About Us
KJI develops stable, mission-oriented shooting platforms for hunters, competitive shooters, law enforcement officers and military personnel.
Founded in 2012 by two Dallas SWAT officers, KJI began with a straightforward idea: build a better rifle rest for use in a deer blind. What started as a practical solution for one shooting environment soon developed into a new approach to supporting rifles in the field.
Scores of drawings, prototypes and patented designs ultimately led the company into the then-uncharted territory of tripod-mounted gun rests. That work became the foundation of the Reaper platform and the shooting-support systems KJI produces today.

From a Deer Blind to the Reaper Platform
KJI’s earliest development work centered on the deer blind rifle rest. The goal was to give the shooter a stable platform that reduced fatigue while preserving the ability to aim, adjust and follow a moving target.
In 2014, the company introduced the Reaper Rest and entered the emerging market for tripod-mounted gun rests. KJI expanded the platform in 2015 with the Reaper Grip, a secure and adaptable rifle-support system designed for use with a wide range of firearms.
Beginning in 2016, the Reaper Grip helped establish KJI at the forefront of multipurpose gun-rest innovation. Its combination of stability, range of motion and field-ready construction made it useful to hunters, competitive shooters and professional users operating in demanding environments.

Built for Demanding Shooters
KJI was acquired by Sellmark in 2019, giving the company additional resources to expand its product line, strengthen distribution and continue developing specialized shooting-support systems.
Since then, the company’s growth has positioned KJI as an industry leader in mission-oriented gun rests for elite military units, law enforcement personnel, competitive shooters and hunting enthusiasts.
Stability Without Sacrificing Mobility
KJI products are designed to help shooters establish a supported position without giving up the ability to scan, track, reposition or adapt to changing terrain.
From a hunting blind or competition stage to professional field operations, each system is developed around the same practical objective: reduce shooter fatigue, improve stability and provide a dependable platform when the shot matters.
Kopfjäger Is Now KJI
In 2026, Kopfjäger Industries adopted the shorter KJI name. The new identity reflects the company’s growth while making the brand easier to recognize, remember and find.
The rebrand also marked the introduction of a new generation of K-Series shooting supports, including aluminum and carbon-fiber tripod configurations developed for faster deployment, easier adjustment and a broader range of shooting applications.
The name has changed, but the company behind it has not. KJI retains the same team, SWAT-founded heritage, engineering philosophy and commitment to supporting its customers. Existing Kopfjäger products, including established Reaper systems and compatible accessories, remain part of the KJI product ecosystem.
The Next Generation of Shooting Support
Today, KJI continues to develop tripods, gun rests, mounts, adapters and shooting accessories for professionals and enthusiasts who require dependable support in the field. Every product follows the principle that started the company in 2012: give the shooter a steadier position and a better opportunity to make the shot.
