kopfjager-is-now-kji
Same SWAT-built DNA. New name. Better platform.
In 2012, two Dallas SWAT officers founded Kopfjager Industries to build shooting platforms with the same no-compromise philosophy tactical team officers rely on in life-or-death situations. In 2019 the brand joined the Sellmark family. In 2026, Kopfjager became KJI — and we used the moment to upgrade the entire platform.
What Changed
The rebrand isn't a paint job — it's the cover story for a real platform upgrade. The new K-Series line keeps the rock-solid foundation the original tripods proved in the field and adds faster deployment, improved adjustment systems, expanded head options, and a refined, purpose-built lineup that puts SWAT-built support at every price point — from the K500 to the flagship K950.
What Didn't Change
The team, the Dallas SWAT heritage, the engineering philosophy, and the ecosystem. Your existing Kopfjager gear and accessories are still fully supported: the Reaper Grip still locks straight and tapered stocks and chassis, the Reaper Rail is still ARCA-spec, and Nomad and Titan ball heads still mount on the standard 3/8"-16 thread every tripod shares. Warranty and service carry forward — every K-Series tripod is backed by a 5-year warranty, or a limited lifetime warranty with online registration.

Common Questions
Is KJI the same company as Kopfjager?
Yes. Same team, same ownership, same engineering. Only the name and the platform generation changed.
Did the products change for the worse?
No — the K-Series is the upgrade. Shooters and writers who ran the original Kopfjager platform are publishing side-by-side comparisons; the improvement is measurable, not marketing.
Will my Kopfjager accessories still work?
Yes. The mounting ecosystem — Reaper Grip, ARCA-spec Reaper Rail, 3/8"-16 heads — carries forward unchanged.
Where do I buy KJI?
Direct at kjitripods.com, or through our dealer network including major sporting goods and optics retailers.
What happens to Legacy Kopfjager products?
Legacy tripods, mounts, kits, and accessories remain available in our Legacy collection and remain fully supported.
